After the kids start screaming you see that his body started to change but he was still like "What?" and had parts of his clothes. You can see that his arms and such is normal. If you look at the end up crane being a volatile ending, you can see he was normal till you start hearing the kids scream. When you consider the ending of the following, and how much dying light in general has been influenced from "I Am Legend" regarding the zombies and the overarching world, it definitely seems like it could be a possibility. What if Crane isn't dead, but was just assumed to be dead because he went into hiding following his transformation into a volatile at the end of the first game? What if, knowing he'd be exterminated or tested on if he tried to seek help, instead went to live among the infected? From there, he could've begun leading groups of infected/volatiles, akin to the alpha zombie in "I Am Legend". However, if we consider the other ending from the following, then this makes more sense. The city would've been decimated by the blast, and any living thing for miles around would've been crushed by rubble from collapsing buildings, incinerated, or turned into a bright "shadow" on the ground. The chances of anyone he knew well enough in Harran that they would go on to tell people about him if they survived are slim to none. However, if we look at the following and assume the "Nuke ending" were the true one and the death this character was talking about, this makes little sense. After paying close attention to everything the developers have shown us about the game, I think Kyle Crane will be in dying light 2 as a sentient volatile leading a faction of infected, or possibly even as the hidden main antagonist of the game.įrom one of the recent trailers, we essentially hear that crane is dead, from someone who knew him personally by the sounds of it.
